We're Buzzing About Honeycomb

Trending Tiles

Tile is a practical way to add texture and visual interest to any space. But with so many shapes, colors and sizes, a simple walk through a showroom can send even the most savvy DIY-er over the edge. Here's what to keep in mind when taking on tile:

Honeycomb

These trendy tiles are an easy way to add flair anywhere in your bathroom, but they can be particularly useful in your shower, where the floor in sloped for drainage. Their small size easily covers the floor slope and the multitude of grout lines increases traction and reduces the risk of slips.

Beveled Subway

You know subway tile, but do you know beveled subway tile? A modern twist on the classic block creates depth and visual weight, giving your bathroom or kitchen a bright, quilted look.

Chevron & Penny Tile

Everyone loves a good chevron or penny tile backsplash -- and that's where they should stay! These small-scale, intricate designs are too busy to be used on the floor. Spice up the backsplash then choose a larger, more solid tile for the floor.

12x24

As the size of the average person's bathroom has increased so have our floor tiles. 12x24 tile has become a popular floor option because of its size and pattern versatility. Line them up straight or stagger them across. It's up to you!

Hi everyone,

This month, we are taking on nearly a dozen kitchen and bathroom projects so it’s safe to say we are dreaming in tile these days. The real tile trend? Cool greys and crisp whites are dominating tile color palettes by bringing an airy, fresh look to bathrooms and kitchens. What’s your next tile project?

Hi everyone!

We had a blast at the Tennessean’s Toast Readers’ Choice Awards this year! It was at Rocketown and there were many talented locals in attendance. We even made “our men” get dressed up for the night! Drinks and dinner were served for an enjoyable evening!

3 Trends from Atlanta's ADAC

How do designers spend their weekends? Learning about the latest trends, of course! This month, we took a road trip to the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center to re-stock our fabric sample library and do some shopping downtown. Here's what we saw while we were there:

Color, color everywhere! In recent years, soft blues and a slew of neutrals have dominated many design color palettes. But over the summer we've seen spike in bright, vibrant colors, particularly shades of coral. The pinkish-orange shade is a popular option for adding life to any room.

Mixed signals. Successfully mixing patterns and textures is an art, and more and more designers are taking chances to mix it up. Florals + geometrics, linens + embroidery and just about any other combination you can think of are making their way to mainstream designs.

Custom pillows. Don't get us wrong, we love a good pillow from Home Goods. But custom pillows like in the photo above with custom cording and funky box edges were all over the ADAC showrooms. Need a weekend project? Give an old pillow a fresh look by adding a brush fringe or appliqué. If it doesn't work out, we're always here to help you design your dream pillow!

Hi everyone!

Alright, full disclosure: while on our trip, we did get lost in an Atlanta mall looking for the Kate Spade store and ended up stopping for cupcakes instead... But who hasn’t done that? We had a great time sifting through fabric samples and drawing inspiration from the showrooms there. For more of the tips and tricks we picked up on the trip, remember to follow us on Facebook and Instagram. ‘Til next time!

MEET MIA

Our team is growing! Mia LeNoir joined Paige Williams Interior Design as an associate interior designer this spring -- and just in the knick of time with the O'More Show House, a growing client roster and moving into a new office space.

With a passion for creating unique and inspiring spaces, Mia is enthusiastic and dedicated to her work. She enjoys working closely with clients to design interiors that reflects their personal style and vision.

In 2014, Mia graduated from High Point University in North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in interior design. After graduation, she worked as the design director for a fabric company, overseeing fabric development and designing their showroom for the International Textile Market Association. With her background in textiles, Mia loves mixing textures and patterns to give each space character.

When she isn’t designing, Mia spends her time traveling, enjoying the outdoors and exploring local coffee shops with her fiancé.

Hi everyone!

This month, I’m taking over Paige’s newsletter to say hello! I’m so excited to be in Nashville and doing what I love most: designing beautiful spaces in a beautiful city. I’m looking forward to meeting and working with each of you sometime soon.
