Behind the Scenes

Behind the Scenes of Stacks on Main

What fun is work without a little competition? You may recall we recently partnered with Parallel Travel as one of four local designers tasked with turning a blank apartment in Stacks on Main, a luxury apartment building in the Gulch, into a fun and welcoming Airbnb space.

This month, we found out the apartment we designed has been the company's highest rated and most occupied space of all of their locations in Nashville! We'll cheers to that.

Check out the before & after!

We want to say thanks to everyone who helped us bring this project to life and to Parallel Travel for the opportunity to create a cool, funky, Nashville-infused space for visitors to our city. It has been so fun reading the reviews on Airbnb as they roll in from real people looking to get a glimpse of the Nashville lifestyle. Until the next project!

Debunking Designer Myths

3 Common Myths About Hiring Interior Designers

MYTH #1: "I would have to buy all new furniture! I can't afford that!"
As much as we would love to treat every home like a blank canvas, we understand that's not a realistic approach. Unless you want to achieve a completely new look, we are happy to work with what you have in a creative, fresh way. Plus, working with an interior designer can actually save you money by helping you avoid costly mistakes, hire reliable contractors and selecting products that will meet your long-term needs.

MYTH #2: "There's nothing they can do that I can't do on my own."
While we encourage all of our clients to stay up-to-date on the latest home design trends, there are some things that are only accessible to professional interior designers through showrooms and cultivated relationships with vendors.

MYTH #3: "If someone else designs my home, it won't feel like home to me."
Our goal is to create spaces that suit you and your lifestyle, so we go to great lengths to ensure your home is not only beautiful but also functional and comfortable. We invite you to research inspirational photos to get a sense of your style and think about what colors you gravitate toward before an initial meeting with us and keep open communication throughout the design process. At the end of the day, we want to be sure your home feels like, well... home!

Hi everyone!

Spring is just around the corner, which means many people are starting new home projects so we wanted to take this month’s e-newsletter to debunk some common misconceptions about working with interior designers. That's a Wrap!

O'More Show House 2016 was a success!

The historic Franklin home featured 22 spaces designed by top local designers, including Paige Williams and her fellow O'More College of Design alumni.

Paige took the front hallway from an incomplete shell to a warm and welcoming alcove by emphasizing the Craftsman style of the house and mixing Mid-Century modern wood elements with pops of color throughout. The house, which is approximately 5,600 square feet, is now up for sale.

All profits from the show house directly benefit O'More College of Design. Recently, proceeds from the Show House were used to renovate the historic berry home on campus to house the Interior Design Program.

Hi everyone,

Six months of preparation, two weeks of Showtime and countless hours later, the 2016 Show House has officially wrapped! When proposing my design for this space, I wanted it to be like walking through an art gallery: the raw wood pieces, the original painting of downtown Franklin, the funky-cool mirror made out of pencils by yours truly... I hope visitors to the house got a taste for the different levels of art in and around Nashville. Can’t wait to start my next project!
