Let’s Talk About Our Mission

In March 2022, we are in the middle of a 75% remodel of a client’s newly purchased farm house when we get the call that their 15 year old son had been diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia MPAL (Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia) and was being admitted to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s hospital at Vanderbilt.

We want to tell our version of this story as a small part of Jake’s life and as a trusted team for “Wilson Warriors” to his family that is a part of the PWID family. We are so honored to be trusted & live out our mission to its fullest. We mean what we say when it comes to changing the way our clients live in their homes & how they live their daily lives. We hold our family close when LIFE happens. How special it is that they can reach out asking for our expertise in times when it matters the most.

Our clients asked us to focus all of our attention on creating a suite for Jake to heal & quarantine for several weeks. He had to come home in the middle of the chaotic state of construction that the rest of their house was in.

This was an “HGTV Moment” with 2 weeks to come up with a design plan, source local shops, and pull together installers to make it all happen.

We called in extra muscle!

Bryce Steyer, owner of Boulder Homes & Justin Tinker of Watson Flooring completed an on-suite bathroom remodel. We pulled together a design plan for Jake to be surrounded by his favorite things – Georgia football & Acuna Jr. with the Atlanta Braves, cards from his school friends & gifts of encouragement, rap music + his hat & shoe collection.

In May, we celebrated with Jake about news, in the “Wilson Warrior Suite” at the Nashville Sounds game, that his sister was a 100% bone marrow treatment match & helped to raise awareness for bone marrow donors.

On October 23rd, hundreds gathered at the Nashville Sounds Game to celebrate Jake’s life after he fought a hard battle with grace & determination.

We have been working the past 3 weeks helping provide our grieving client family a 2nd “HGTV moment” in conjunction with Bryce and our subs to wrap up construction for each area of their home to come back to a calm, clean space to grieve together and prep for Jake’s Celebration of life.

Again, this is our side of the story & a testament to how we truly do love what we do and the trust that was placed on our team with confidence to create a well designed space for this family was not taken lightly.

What is #HPMKT & Why Are We So Excited?

Happy fall! It’s our favorite time of year because of… Designer Disneyworld AKA Highpoint! The PWID design team is going back to High Point Furniture Market again this year & we could not be more excited.

We have worked hard to make this trip happen again. Yes, it serves our creative brains but also helps elevate our education with what’s currently on the market & enables us to create more value for each client project.

But wait, what exactly is #HPMKT?

Here are our favorite highlights from last year at Highpoint! Imagine a day at Disney and all the things you want to accomplish & see…

  • Each day, our Designer Backpacks are loaded with most unexpected things: Goodies from every showroom including tape measures, pens, pencils, notebooks, and of course champagne & cookies.

  • We love seeing, sitting in and touching furniture we have selected for client projects in person, it brings us so much joy.

  • Seeing beautiful lighting in person & installed in all the showrooms helps us make better selections per project for the best custom look.

This year we are excited to learn about:

  • New items on the market & innovations in furniture that is made in the USA, mostly exactly where we are going to be, Highpoint NC

  • Learning how our trusted brands have adapted their methods & business structure with the still remaining major back log our industry is feeling from 2020.

We can’t wait to share our experiences this year with you! Follow along in our Insta stories the last week of October to see our creative journey & what we will be bringing back with us.

Let's Talk about Our Least Favorite Word "Back Order"

Are you dreaming or thinking about renovating an area of your house, redoing a room, building a new house? Are you preparing for an event, do you have company coming to visit or an upcoming party? If so, it’s never too early to call your interior designer!

how soon do i need to call a designer?

We receive phone calls & emails every week from potential clients looking for help with a project but do not have a good handle on a reasonable timeline or how long the design process can actually take. Trust that your interior designer can be very useful in the very beginning planning stages to set expectations & help create the vision for your family as we wait together.

Design process

Good planning takes time! The beginning planning process on any size job can easily take up to 2-3 months to meet with us, make selections, make modifications to selections, create a budget & quote all moving parts of each job, and keep dreaming together before we even place our first order!

On larger new house construction or renovation projects, we are in it for the long haul, call us up to 1 year+ before you break ground…yes you read that right! We love to be involved in the space planning & floor plan layout process to make sure your floor plans reflect the furniture you currently own (or new) & how your family plans to live in each space. We help you visualize the look & feel of each space at the same time so your vision is actually built in the end. Rather than waiting for your house to be built, then trying to make it yours. Let us help you from the very beginning!

back order dates are subject to change

We are seeing delays (as you have most likely experienced in some aspect of life right now) on the materials & products we spec each & every day. Just one more reason to let us help you come up with the overall plan & design vision before starting any major construction or renovation project….or it will literally drag on forever without that feeling of accomplishment (we need that feeling too!). Listed are just a few major lead times in our world that are becoming more normal that we are good at working around:

Window treatments / 6-8 weeks

Upholstery / 20 – 30 weeks

Kitchen / Appliances: 9-12 months

Cabinets / 12-15 weeks

You are not alone in your project when you work with us! We enjoy this crazy design process & you should too.

LOVE What You Do

February has been all about love, which for us means loving what you do every day. If you love what you do, it becomes an extension of yourself. The words of Susy Holman summed it up perfectly by saying the following: “business is a spiritual pursuit. I believe that for so many of us, our work is an extension of who we are. The wildest results have come when my work & my spirituality collide with what “I do” and how I make a living.” The goal is to carry that passion of what you do each day because it will drive you to a point that it becomes a part of who you are. It may not come easy, but the journey of finding that love is worth it. Find that passion, let it carry you & look forward to who you become from it.

Here at Paige Williams Interior Design, we LOVE what we do by making it our mission to help people connect to their spaces and find their own vision as we believe a good environment can elevate happiness and change our lives. We transform how our clients feel, function, and live in their spaces so they have the tools to thrive. We strive to touch hearts, change minds

Bringing Our Passion to Life

What we love and value is a well designed space for each client and this Scullery has all the design details. In this particular house, the existing laundry room and office space off from the kitchen did not work for this growing family. We discovered early on that the wife loves to bake and bake cakes for special occasions for family & friends (and they are good!). We were able to give her a special space to allow her creations with all the design details we could think of to better her baking experience. So, we transformed the non-functioning spaces to become her Scullery! Check out the before, during & after process photos to see this space come to life!
